The challenge
Coordinating design work and construction, all while working with out-of-state architects, designers and engineers is required in the carefully planned project managed by several professionals from Denver, Colorado.

The solution
A stunning bluff property affords views of four islands Little Traverse Lake, Good Harbor and the sweeping panoramic scenery of Lake Michigan. Orienting this deliberate design on this challenging site required collaboration with Don Ruggles, a Denver architect. Bay Construction assisted with soils design and fabricated a custom spiral staircase up to a bird’s-nest perch that singularly captures all of the view elements in this remote setting. Extensive site modeling to correctly orient the bird’s nest and perfectly align the view when entering the home resulted in affirmation for every design element. TJ Designs fashioned every detail for this lovely couple and no need or function was left unconsidered.
