The challenge
Windows, windows everywhere. This downtown condo in a high-rise was long, stretching from Front Street to the alley, with windows filling every wall to the north, east and south.

The solution
Pulling natural light into every room, while maintaining an open floor plan that felt conversational and intimate was balanced with anchoring, darker wooden elements as imagined by architect Michael Fitzhugh. Very low structural steel made every mechanical challenge imaginable as we daily waged materials and methods against the structure and our given condition. Interior doors with full height laminated glass separate rooms, while pulling generous natural light into every space.
